hamilton beach blender blade Significant Guidepost
The spin on this product is a little looser than the original which causes the motor to rev a little faster and does not alow the cyclone effect to form as well as it did on the original with my blender jar.

parts for black and decker blenders Free Related Tip
Hello,
I was worried reading the earier review. This fits perfectly in my bar blender. This has a much inmproved design. The old design caught food or ice below the blades and either would not blend or would bind the machine. I think this happened right before I needed to get the part. Ice formed below and stuck the blades even though the machine kept workindg. I found a nut and a washer and metal grindings in the drink. The blades were not attached anymore. This new design is tapered below and the blades sit higher up to ease food/ice mixing. Thanks Hamilton beach.
This is not a good replacement for the blender cutter blade that came with the Hamilton Beach blender. Do not buy this cutter blade expecting to swap it for your existing cutter blade. You will be disappointed.
1. This item is not the same as the photograph in the Amazon listing. Yes, the photograph looks like the original cutter blade assembly that came with the blender when you bought it. No, the item you get will not look the same.
2. The blade shape is different and this affects the way the material moves in the blender. The material will move from side-to-side, slopping against the lid of the blender, rather than mixing smoothly. The original cutter blade was much better at blending smoothly, without the material sloshing all over the place.
3. The blade housing is conical, rather than the disk-with-post design of the original housing. The new design leaks quite easily through the bottom of the blade assembly, especially when blending thinner liquids.
I just had to contradict the one star reviewer here. I wanted a second cutter blade to go with my new travel cup (so I wouldn’t have to swap the bottoms around), but after reading the one star review I was concerned that I wouldn’t be receiving the same blade that came with the blender (the same one pictured). But the part number matched, so I took a leap and ordered it. This IS the commercial cutter that came with the commercial blenders… the picture is exactly what you’ll get. I have to assume the one star reviewer either reviewed the wrong item or somehow was shipped the wrong item. I ordered this exact item, from this exact page, and I received the item pictured… which is the same exact cutter that came with my Hamilton Beach commercial blender. You get just what is pictured, no gasket and no bottom screw cap… so if you need those too get them seperately. I’m very happy with it, and I plan on getting another one (along with another travel cup). Like I said, I just had to balance out the negative review.
this o-ring is thicker than the one replacing it. don’t know at what point it changed, but what a disappointment. the blender doesn’t fit in the housing correctly and runs the motor super hot.
Had to buy and return several time from different sites but this one did perfectly fit our blender and it worked till blender broke few months back.
I bought this with high hopes for my Hamiton beach wave action blender. It didn’t fit.
While the gasket I’m sure fits some blender, it does not fit the blender it is supposed to fit. It is to large and too thick. I am looking eles were to find one that fits and will not purchase from the web again. I strongly suggest that unless it have a model number that matches exactly, these gaskets are not interchangable and you need to take your base to the store with you.
Appears to be the same as the original. No problems with it so far.
Hamilton Beach has made their cutter blades the same way for over twenty years - as far back as I can remember. And I’ve used a lot of them. Never had any problems with them. A couple years ago, they came out with the so-called “wave-action” cutter blade. The new cutter blades are a disaster - an example of how to take a perfectly good design and ruin it. What the wave-action blades do - is slosh everything around in the blender jar, creating a mess. It splashes all over the top cover lid. Not only that, but the new cutter blades leak around the bottom, where the round flat rubber seal goes. That’s another thing they changed. The rubber seal that sits below the cutter blades is less in width. Since I do a lot of blending, I have four blender jars and four of these new wave-action blades. All they do is create a mess inside the blender jar and are for more prone to leaking. I have to tighten the base far more than I ever had to in the past. And they still leak.
With all that in mind, I set out looking for some of the old-style blades. I finally found them - or so I thought. I ordered four of these old-style cutter blades. The photo shown on Amazon clearly shows the old style cutter blade. Ah, but everything is not as it seems. To put icing on the cake, Hamilton Beach has done something downright [...]. Get this - they show the old style blades on the front of the box, but are putting the new style blades inside. What’s shown on the box does not represent what’s inside. The picture you see here on Amazon, does not represent what’s in the box. Look at the two photos I’ve uploaded that clearly shows this. [...]
Update 3/20/07. I did eventually find the old-style cutter blades on Amazon. Do a search for “Hamilton Beach Commercial Bar Blender Blade”. I’ve ordered several of these and can verify these are like the old-style blades.
Built in gasket does much better than the original and also better designed blade assembly mixes food at the bottom much better(no dead spots).
The blender cutter blade was slightly different than the original, but actually seems to work more efficiently.
A little expensive, considering what it’s made of, but it beats having to buy a new blender.
If not for the inflated price, I would have given this 5 stars.
Although there is a micro difference in the cut of the blades (a hair narrower), and the black things on the underside are taller, again by a noticeable hair, and the blade section shorter, in the end it is the same height as the old and this not only fits our Hamilton Beach Blender Type 814 (14-speed, also labeled the “ice breaker”) just right, it is easier to unscrew AND it does a much better job of blending than the original ever did. The original used to balk just to puree cottage cheese. I just made a pasta sauce that involved chickpeas, fresh herbs and tomatoes. Piece of cake, under a minute, required little scraping down. I’m happy. Took another reviewer’s advice and also purchased a new O ring. I also recommend it.
