Kitchen Blenders

We’ve had this for about six months and we love it. We use it a lot - mainly for smoothies and blended fruit drinks, but we’ve also made iced coffee, which involves crushing ice, and I frequently blend pancake batter to make it smoother. We also have some of the accessories and have used them to make milkshakes, crush nuts and do some basic food processing. We have had NO problems with this item during its frequent use; it works well, cleans up very easily, and looks fabulous on the benchtop! We stored it away for a while but I missed it being out so now it’s out permanently and is a great addition to the kitchen. Highly recommended!

So to qualify, I’m not some kind of gourmand. I don’t know what frape means, and that’s probably why this blender appealed to me. On/Off/Pulse. That’s it. I used to have a blender with 12 speeds, and I’d just run through them all for amusement. Now, though, I have something that looks cool, and if I don’t need to blend anything up that much I just pulse it a little. Added bonus is that this looks super-cool. The only caveat is that the silver parts are all plastic. They’re a tough plastic, good enough that I carry the motor around by the top silver ring (very handy), but still a little disappointing, especially given the price. Oh, and I got mine for $[...] at costco with the blend-n-go cup. So you might look around a little.

Oster once used to make good products - probably they were made in USA before. I purchased this mini jar recently and within a week of purchase and with very careful handling, it broke. The plastic used was of very cheap quality - probably it was made in China. Will never buy anything in future which is made by Oster. Another product is Corelle cookware - their dishes now have started breaking quite often - this was not the case earlier. Seems like consumers have to pay a big price since companies like Oster and Corelle have shifted bases to China.

Great size for mixing & refrigerating dressings. One of the main reasons I recently bought my blender. Great accessory !

The Oster Classic Beehive Blender in Chrome has endured many tasks in my kitchen and now work in my daughter’s home. Unlike the more contemporary designs in plastic with buttons galore, this is simple to set up and simple to operate. A single switch gives you a couple options and if you don’t mind hearing a blender’s motor operate and the ingredients churn, I think you’ll be as pleased as us with the output. I have a Cuisinart food processor that I’ve had for almost 30 years and I find this blender to be just as reliable, sturdy, easy to assemble and a breeze to clean. Blending icy products is no problem and at one time, I even used this for making paper. I also like the beehive shape more than boxy blenders. In my opinion, this is the best blender in the price range and I will buy another to replace the one my daughter has prematurely inherited.

I had an old Oster blender with a plastic jar that finally begun slowing down. I decided after reading the reviews that this was a good alternative.

Here’s why I wish the old blender had not stopped working:

-This is extremely noisy and if you like making your smoothies right after you have just woken up, this is a rude awakening.

-The jar is too narrow - food does not make its way towards the bottom to be chopped without help. Every time I use this, I have to stop and remove the lid, then force the contents towards the bottom, then re-start. Sometimes this works and sometimes I have to add more liquid, beat the jar with my hand, or use a utensil to force the food towards the base.

-When the product is finally finished, if it’s too thick, the jar does not easily feed the drink into your cup…oftentimes it goes over the outside of the glass because the pour spout is too narrow.

For the price, I would not purchase this blender again. It looks cool, but does not function like I would expect for a $70 blender.

This only has two settings but why would you need more? I only use the low setting and have had no problems whatsoever blending my frozen fruit or ice into a perfect smoothie.

I have had this for almost a year and have not had any issues. It looks and feels like a professional quality blender. Highly recommended!
