Author: I live in the middle of nowhere and do appeciate being able to purchase something like this from amazon, but considering what this is, a rubber gasket, the shipping costs were outrageous. A gasket doesn’t need a padded envelope; wrap it in a single sheet of paper and stick it in a letter size envelope with a .42 stamp for gosh sakes!

Great to have a fresh blender assembly for our old Oster that just never quits.
I ordered these replacement parts for another piece I dropped and shattered. Like all Oster products, they are great and make very smooth margaritas and smoothies every morning. The plastic is just like the glass, except it’s lighter and I can take it to places that do not allow glass.
The jar came in the mail with a crack already in it. To the vendor’s credit, they upgraded us to the higher quality, shatter-proof plastic jar. If you are looking for a replacement blender jar, spend a few extra dollars and get the stronger plastic.
I don’t mind this, but my wife hates it. She says it is loose and wobbely when running, and the lid does not fit right. Plus the plastic is cheap. But is it worth paying the extra for a glass replacement? That is the question.
I got my Oster blender from my parents, they got it in the 70’s as a wedding gift. I wanted to replace the pieces but the plastic is much more cheap than the original and the top is a hard top instead of the old rubbery one. It gets the job done, but don’t expect it to last like the original ones!
If you are a lifelong Oster user like I am, the sight of a smashed center cap is pure agony. I bought an Oster copper blender from another vendor and although it was carefully cocooned in bubble wrap the cap was smashed.
I just went online and ordered two just in case one gets damaged on my next move. Although they look break proof, they aren’t.
Here’s a tip: Don’t let your blender center cap fall into the blender while the blender is running, because the blades will destroy the blender center cap. Trust me on this one.
If you fail to heed this advice and find yourself in need of a new center cap, the Oster 83819-000-089 Center Cap is perfect. That is, it’s perfect if you have one of the Oster brand blenders with which it’s compatible.
This little item may not seem like much, but you totally need it if you want to keep the stuff in your blender, well, IN your blender.
Unless you like wearing smoothies and cleaning up messes, you really can’t do without the Oster 83819-000-089 Center Cap. (Again, unless you’ve got some other brand of blender. If that’s the case, I don’t know what to tell you. Ask Jeeves or something.)
This lid arrived looking as pictured, but is much flimsier than the original, which I was replacing because I bought a replacement pitcher in a different shape from my first Oster pitcher.
As the previous reviewer noted, this item does seem flimsier than the original Osterizer cap; it’s a thin, light, fairly rigid plastic, whereas the original was thicker and more rubbery. It seems to be made by a different company, not Oster. However, I actually prefer it in that it is easier to get on and off; my old rubbery one tended to stick.
I replaced this part because the old one had leaks and was causing a mess on the kitchen. The new one is performing very good so far and now not a single drop of liquid comes out after using the blender.
Works great - my Osterizer is over 40 years old and the motor is great ! Just needed a new blade. Thanks !
Of course, this blade is exactly what it says it is. It was delivered quickly and in the original box in perfect condition.
The blade that came with my blender had locked up / rusted. This seems identical and works as expected.
OMG!!! This is the best Ice Crushing blade ever! It does the job! I use it for juicing too. It takes an apple seeds, core & peel and instant apple juice! Raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, NO SEEDS! This blade grinds them into any smoothie. I love this BLADE!
I had to replace the original bottom piece after it cracked. The new one fits better than the original and works great. Well worth the money.
I needed to replace my blade, and I bought this bottom cap at the same time because the old one had a few hairline cracks, though it still worked fine. The new cap would not screw on tightly. The blender jar just kept spinning and spinning when I tried to screw it on. It leaked when I used the blender. I returned it right away. Lucky my old one still works.
The product did what it was supposed to and is yet to break so i’m pretty satisfied.
Because I needed to buy a new blade anyway, I decided to get the bottom cap also, as my old one was looking a bit rough. It was a waste of money, though. The blender would work with the new cap, but it didn’t work as well as it usually does. Because the new bottom cap wasn’t an exact fit, it took me twice as long to make my smoothies as it normally does. I wouldn’t buy a new bottom cap unless you absolutely have to. I went back to using my old one.
