I just bought this blender from Costco about 2 weeks ago. Its base is all black though, not stainless steel, and I love it. We had an Oster beehive for about 3 years and then the little metal part on the base that the jar fits over just broke one day. So I started looking at reviews for one that made smoothies really good and I was looking at the Oster Fusion, but then I saw this one at Costco that basically had the same features, at least the reverse blending mode. We have made shakes and smoothies in it with the frozen drink method and it makes them perfect without having to stick a spoon down in and mix it around (we had to do that with the beehive), I will update when I have had it longer, but so far we love it!!

Compared to a Hamilton-Beach blender of equal power this was more expensive. It worked well for 3 years, but then the seal on the shaft that goes into the bottom started leaking. I plan to purchase a new part to replace the damaged one because it would be more expensive to replace the blender. Pros; looks good. Adequately crushes ice. Cons: noisy, only one speed (holding the toggle up gives you another slightly different speed, but requires manually holding the toggle the whole time). Overall it seems adequate, average, functional, but not remarkable in any way.

I’ve had this blender in black for 3 years with no problems. And for a guy, I like the functionality. Speed settings are slow… or fast. Nothing like, puree, frappe, stir, mix. Just slow… or fast. Pretty simple. I’ve crushed frozen fruits. Blade still looks good. But I just chipped the glass jar at the bottom. Now it won’t seal. That surprised me. Maybe the glass isn’t as tough as it feels. But still a great blender. Except I bought mine…in the store, on sale.

This is a great blender that’s gotten a bad rap. I’ve owned this model for years and it outperforms all others for my specific task: pureeing Progresso’s Manhattan Clam Chowder. The ice crushers don’t liquefy the clam pieces. The Cuisinart purees their little hearts out. The mechanical construction is still the Achilles heel but if I can get 2-3 years daily service for 59 bucks, I’m good.

Btw, Progresso Manhattan Clam Chowder is a watery mess from the can. Once it’s throughly blended, like a shrimp bisque, it’s a world class soup. I’d put it up against anything in a top restaurant. I’ve had one can a day for twenty years. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work for other Progresso soups (they’re already too thick). Another stroke of genius: blending pea soup with vegetable soup, but this only works for mid-price restaurant soups.

This is my second Waring blender. The first one had a motor burnout after about 3 years and daily use. So far, I’m happy. This one has more power and the plastic jar has better sloped sides to feed things toward the blades. I also have the glass jar from the last blender - which looks better. So far, so good.

I bought this blender after buying a less expensive Black & Decker that bit the dust within 2 weeks.

I should have gone with the Oyster first.

I’ve been working this blender for the last 3 years and it’s still running strong and have no complaints.

Before buying the KTEC Champ, my wife and I were going through a $125 blender each year. We have health shakes every morning and use plenty of ice. It seemed logical to upgrade to this strong sounding blender. It has a long warantee…be sure to use the one from K-tec directly. The unit is like a computerized diesel locomotive. It has several varied speed SEQUENCES for different tasks. The shakes were better than ever and it changed our lives… (I had to laugh at the review about it not running at a constant speed. It’s not supposed to!)…it’s versatility makes it possible to whip together unlimited textures. But the factory pre-sets are all the average person would ever need. The unit is absolutely incredible. The company is even better. When the pitcher malfunctioned after 3 years, it was replaced for free, promptly with no questions asked. It was even a newer model improved pitcher!. When the unit sounded like the gears were crunching a year later (but was still working), they quickly replaced the entire unit for free. If there were more products and companies like this it would be a better world! When this appliance finally dies, I will immediately buy the best K-tec available with no comparison shopping. This is the Rolls Royce of residential blenders.
