cuisinart blender 600 Free Assistive Article
This blender replaced a Hamilton Beach blender I bought almost 30 years ago. That blender never gave me any problems but I thought the motor was beginning to struggle a little and it seemed like a good time to get one with more power. The Cuisinart SB-5600 has that. Unfortunately, in the short time I have owned it I am close to spending as much in replacement parts as I did for the blender. The glass jar broke first. The Hamilton Beach had a glass jar…the same glass jar for almost 30 years. This one seems sturdy enough, and I know things happen, but another glass object barely touched it. Next, a average size frozen strawberry got wedged in somewhere, somehow, bent a blade on the cutter and stripped the threads on the piece that engages the drive clutch. Still waiting for that part to arrive in the mail. I expect the flimzy black part that the glass jar screws into to go next. Buying two of these may be a good idea. You could use one for parts.
The blender does have good power. It also has good noise, but so did the Hamilton Beach. It seems like a lower speed or a smaller container is needed. If its not full or if you are mixing something like a smoothy it seems to cavitate very easily, even on the lowest speed, which eliminates all cyclonic action. The high speed is all but unuseable unless your making a large smoothy for more than one or the contents is thin. Once you figure out what it likes it works great…unless its broke.

This doesn’t work as you would expect. The instructions even state to push the stuff down into the blade to make it work. Thats what I have to do with the regular blade anyway, so where’s the win on this?

Got this blender as a christmas gift. I was really excited because the reviews were good and I needed a blender for my daily protein shakes. I figured this would last for a long time since it is a Waring and we have had nothing but good products from them in the past. Boy, was I wrong. The blender set up easily, but the first thing I noticed was that it was fairly small. My shakes are basically 2 cups of water, a fresh banana, ice and maybe some frozen fruit. No nuts or seeds or anything really difficult to crush. Compared to my old Cuisnart I had to be more careful with the adding of ingredients because of the small size. I like to add the mix last while the blender is going to avoid it sticking to the sides. Since this was a smaller jar, I had to be extra careful to avoid spilling out. I could have lived with all of that, except that about three weeks after I got it, it broke. After maybe 20 uses, I cleaned it just as I normally do. A drop of soap in the jar with some hot water and run the blender for a little while. Rinse and turn upside down until dry. A few hours later I go to dry up any remaining water and store it when I find that the shaft holding the blade to the base broke. It was clear that there was a defect in the metal as it was rusted partially through. THere had to be a crack in the shaft. So I used Amazon’s retun feature to order a new blender of the same model. You have to love Amazon’s return procedure. In a couple of days the new blender arrived. Two weeks later the new blender had the same failure. I now have a Brevile blender and am crossing my fingers. Don’t buy this blender unless you are planning on sending it back until you get one without a defect.

braun 400 watt hand blender Related Knowledgebase
BRAUN HAND BLENDER/CHOPPER
After owning a few cheaper units, I sprang for the Braun Hand Blender/Chopper and am very pleased with my choice. While I have mainly used mine for its easy blending-in-the-pot capabilities, I admit the chopper has equal merits, especially when you only need to chop a small quantity of ingredients.
I love being able to immerse the blade right in my soup pot to blend or puree soups and sauces without the mess of getting out my food processor or countertop blender. The blade does a quick job of pureeing and wash-up is a dream. I can’t imagine cooking without this handy device.
Highly recommended.

Top resources for waring blender mbb518 online
My wife purchased this blender specifically for blending fruit shakes and smoothies. It worked quite well for that purpose until… it broke after 1 month of light use - the threaded shaft which the blade is attached to just snapped clean off. The metal on the inside of the snapped shaft looks like a cheap, weak, alloy. It’s sad that Waring has decided to cut corners in this way. They don’t make them like they used to. Not recommended.

magic bullett blender Related Resource
I have been using the bullet for 3 weeks now and here is my feedback.
The machine is a great thing and I would definitely buy another if I need to. The recipe book has some simple tryouts and so far all have been deliciously better then expected. I only wish the attachments were made of better quality components. Just because I have one PRO and 5 CONS does not mean the tool is not worth the money and you should not buy it. Like I said, it can do a lot of great things.
Pros: small, very powerful and does what the promos says. I am happy with the thing.
Cons 1) The glasses, cups, and attachments are all made out of the type of plastic that scratches very easily when cleaning with a mild scrubber sponge.
Cons 2) The bottom of the blade attachment uses a rubber gear to engage with the motors spin mechanism. To run the blender the user pushes down on the cup which comes into contact with the gear on the motor. So when the user pushes down too lightly the base motor grinds and burns off the rubber on the underside of the blade. There will be smoke and rubber smell in the air with rubber shavings around. So when you use the bullet make sure you push down with authority so you don’t grind away the engaging rubber on the underside of the blade.
Cons 3) I wish the glasses and attachments were stackable to reduce/space needed to store away all the components.
Cons 4) The inside of the glasses/cups are ribbed/reinforced with a lines of plastic from bottom to top making it hard to just insert a sponge and wash out. Probably the dumbest thing about the bullet.
Cons 5) When ice gets ground in a smoothie there are always good chunks of ice that don’t get ground good enough and get left behind.

Learn More About waring professional blenders
I got this in January 2009 and it broke in July 2009. It was probably used 25 times, of which 1/3 were frozen fruit smoothies, 1/3 were frozen cocktails (ice crushing), and 1/3 were ‘wet blends’ with little resistance.
The blender worked great and I had no problems with it. In fact, it was one of the best blenders I had used and in fact in some ways was better at blending than larger VitaMix blenders.
As background, I have blended hundreds of smoothies and so I am accustomed to operating blenders. If I needed to add a bit of water to chop ice, fine. If this blender’s motor had burned out after 4 years I’d be upset, but would move on. However, this blender broke in a way that no product like this should ever break in 100 years of use.
The Details: The blade is ’screwed’ in by something that looks like a metal screw but is definitely not stainless steel (it is made to look like brushed stainless steel, but it is not). Rather, it looks like some kind of composite metal/cement material with a brushed outside for looks.
I tried blending something and was surprised not to hear any sound. When I looked at it I discovered that the blade and top of the blade-screw had literally broken completely in half from the bottom of the blade-screw. The blade was ‘floating’ in the smoothie I was blending.
I could have easily poured this smoothie (thick) into a glass without seeing the blade and gotten it into my mouth, lips, or tongue and been badly cut.
I want to be clear, this design flaw is so bad that the engineers who designed and approved its use should be fired. You don’t hold together a fast moving blade at 550 watts with a screw made of junk material.
I bought this unit at Bed Bath & Beyond expressly for the ability to use their long-term product return polic if needed. All I can say is that they get 5 stars for taking back this 1 star product.
I will never buy a Waring product again.

blendtec smoothie blender Related Article
This blender has a very cheap design, the socket which the blade goes into easily strips and little bits of metal and rubber get ground up and end up in your food.
I was blending fresh strawberries this morning (not frozen) and after I finished blending it, in the mix of strawberries was all kinds of metal pieces and black rubber.. Now that’s what I call a quality smoothie!!! Jamba Juice doesn’t seem to offer any rubber/metal shavings as a free boost– why not!?!?
I have sent my blender back to K-TEC twice now, and am very dissatisfied.. So, just be careful if you purchase this.

kitchenaid blender ksb5 Free Helpful Guideline
I bought this from Amazon in 2005 and it still working great. It runs much quietly than the plastic jars. The customer service is great, within the first year I accidentally broke the jar and called KitchenAid and they sent the free replacement within days..
I had the rubber thing(that runs the blade) replaced once. That’s the only draw back, but the part is pretty cheap and installation is easy. I think if we take the jar off as soon as it stops the rubber wears out so have to be careful with that.
