After doing more blender research than I care to admit to myself, I narrowed my search to three blenders. I selected this model after speaking to a most informed and helpful Kitchenaid customer service rep who answered my remainding questions one Saturday afternoon. Since, they staffed their customer serviced department on the weekends, I was already impressed. This blender replaced a just out-of-warranty Cuisinart blender which I loved, until it died a premature death, I can say without hestiattion this model is far better. Since I use our blender daily to make breakfast smoothies, some with ice, I thought my blender needs were simple. Quite to the contrary, I discovered. There is no middle ground when it comes to chopping ice and this blender does a superb and lighin’ quick job. I add very frozen berries to the morning mix and this blender handles them beautifully. The performance, design, ease of operation and cleaning each have exceeded my expectations.

As a fan of Consumer Reports, I had seen the Vitamix as their top rated blender, but could not swallow the high price tag. With that in mind, i bought the highest rated blender that was under $100. After having two different blenders die in the last 18 months, I decided to try the Vitamix with its 7 year warranty. I bought the machine based on expectations of improved durability; but I am amazed at the difference in performance. The ability to blend drinks made with large amounts of ice cubes to such a smooth consistancy is incredible. Very easy to clean and not too noisy. Nice to know that it is made in the USA too. The one word of caution is that it is large (taller than most blenders), so if you leave it on the counter (like I do), you need counterspace; it may not fit in the area under your cabinets.

I bought this model blender from Bed, Bath & Beyond. I used it just about every day for two months with no problems, although, when making smoothies, I found it best to add a few ingredients, blend them, and then add more instead of trying to blend everything in one shot. At right around having the unit for two months, the motor stopped working. Because it was under warranty, Breville is sending me a new unit. I have to admit they made it very easy to do this, including emailing me a FedEx label so that shipping was free. So, yesterday, right after I left FedEx from mailing the broken unit back to Breville, I decided to go buy another blender at BB&B again. Exact same model as the previous one. I used it ONCE last night and now today the motor is not functioning again. Exact same problem with this one after one use as I had with the previous unit after two months of use.

Needless to say, I either have really bad karma with blenders, or Breville has a serious issue with this model! I’m taking the second unit back to BB&B to get my money back and I will be buying a VitaMix. No more fooling around with lesser blenders for me!

I bought this blender to replace my 30 year old 2-speed Oster workhorse. It still works but didnt make good smoothies. I had the Waring about a month and the spinning disc in the base (that moves the blade in the container) came loose. I have tried to screw it back down and it just wont go. Doesnt look like the threads are stripped. I have no idea what is going on with this thing. Sounds like other buyers have had blade issues of one type or another.
What a waste of money, and of course, no warranty.

I was recently freed from my terrible Oster blender which finally died. Although it was outside my inital budget, I’ve tested this model daily for the last two months and I can say that it’s recommended for daily duty.

Firstly, it’s made of quality materials and incredibly solid. It has a simple and elegant look that you’ll proudly display this on your counter rather than hide it away (which is a good thing because it weighs a ton). The one piece stainless jug has a unique look and is easy to clean.

Secondly, the performance is amazing for smoothies and milkshakes. It makes short work of the ice and frozen fruit in 15 seconds. The motor can work through a number of runs back to back without any worries. I love the two speed switch because I never understood why a blender needed 10 speeds.

Finally, I expect this to work for a very long time but the blender includes a two year warranty, great customer support, and easy to find replacement parts.

Just adding to all the negative completes to bring the star rating down. Glad to see they are currently unavailable, its about time they stop making such a non-reliable blender, that even with warranty still have to pay for shipping to have it fixed. Cheap plastic everyone is talking about broke on me twice the past two years. There are much better options out there I just bought a oster professional series blender, I hope it does a better job then this blender did.

I had an Oster beehive I used most every day for 4 years or more. When it came time to replace, and as I had such great experience with the beehive, I decided to “upgrade” to the Oster Fusion. I loved the unit until it quit working within a year of daily use. Since I use it everyday for smoothies, I then decided to buy the best and got a Vita-mix which I’ve only had a few weeks. So far so good and it has a very long warranty, I think 5 years.
